Putting it all together

A poem…when thinking of a poem what words come to mind? I begin thinking of poems I have read in the past. What were they about? Many of them had general topics such as love, the sun, loss, a break up, snow, the beach, eyes, trees, war etc. Anything can have a poem written about it, but most poetry I’ve heard or read have been about these types of things. The title of a poem doesn’t always have a literal connection with what the poem is about. Sometimes I have to dig deeper to find the “hidden” meaning of the poem. As each line is added to the mix, my ideas of what the poem is about are directed in another direction.
Now let’s take the poem and give it a title. “Mellow”. My mind starts tying the name in with different topics that would work with the title of “...
