Psychological Effects of Violence on Forensic Nurses
The article on the effects of violence on forensic nurses in the Journal of Psychosocial Nursing was an extremely interesting and revealing essay to me because nursing is the field I have chosen to go in to. This article presented to me the psychological and physical dangers of entering a profession like nursing, and how to deal with the consequences of being in a situation of death, violence, and sadness.

The piece begins by introducing the forensic nurse as a health care worker who may work in a variety of settings and deals with victims of violence and abuse. He or she may a responder to scenes of terrorism, accidents, or may deal with patients in a hospital or police station. Besides for the effects of being constantly exposed to violence and abuse, nurses are also put in a position of danger, whether by the risk of death or injury while responding to a case, or by angry family members taking out their frustrations...
