Should the families of the victims of September 11 be compensated?

In the heinous attacks of September 11, 2K1 many people were affected worldwide. None, more so than the victims and their families. This raises an interesting query, should the victims’ families be compensated financially for their loss? Despite the scrambling for order among the chaos, congress set up a fund to aid the families of the 3,016 people killed and the injured survivors. The fund was set up in an attempt to avoid messy lawsuits and give the victims family’s assurance that the country would see to it no more harm would come to them. The clauses of the fund stated that by accepting parties would not have the right to sue the airlines.
