Protein Synthesis

Protein Synthesis is the process whereby DNA encodes for the production of amino acids and proteins. An amino acid is a substance that has an amino group on one end and a carboxyl group on the other and is the building blocks for proteins. Proteins are polymers of amino acids and organic compounds that contain nitrogen in addition to carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. Protein synthesis has two parts in the process, the first being transcription and the second being Translation. Transcription is known also as RNA synthesis and is the process in which a molecule of DNA is copied into a complementary strand of RNA thus transferring information from DNA to RNA. The second step in the process of Protein syn...
