Prom

Prom night is supposed to be a perfect night in a girl’s life. It is supposed to be the bittersweet climax of one’s high school career. I carried these stereotypes associated with prom over into my expectations for the night. I expected my prom to be one of the most fun, vibrant nights of my life. I was positive June 7, 2002 would reign in my heart as a special, unforgettable night. My prom night was indeed unforgettable, but unfortunately for me, it was unforgettable for all the wrong reasons.
I had been visualizing my prom since I was in grade school. I’d always imagined I’d wear a beautiful Cinderella gown and spend the night with my Prince Charming. Well the gown aspect came true. My mother bought me a gorgeous, purple, strapless gown. I was sure it would be the envy of every girl there. A few months before the dance my friend John and I decided to go together. I was walking on air; I had the dress, I had the gorgeous date. I was in for the time of my life.
