1.0 INTRODUCTION

1.1 Project Overview
The objective of this project is to develop a software environment Air Traffic Control System. This will assist the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) in aircraft handling. The system will utilise advanced technologies such as voice recognition and response, touch screen capability for aircraft isolation and communication, and artificial intelligence models to predict problems and alert controller / pilot of flight path corrections. The controller stations will also use voice recognition for many of the interface functions thus providing the controller with increased capability. This system will also include embedded training packages, which will help keep the controller abreast of system upgrades and policy changes.
