As noted by author Blanche Wiesen Cook, “Eleanor Roosevelt left us a great legacy,” “she believed that government had only one purpose: to make life better for all people. But, she warned, we could never depend on a politician to do anything about that. For change to occur we needed to organize—door to door, block-by-block, community-by-community.
