Private ownership of guns

I feel that the private ownership of guns poses a serious threat to society. Hand guns and other types of firearms, are very dangerous weapons, and are the leading murder weapons in the United States. In 1999 there were 15,533 murders in the United States, and the use of firearms for these murders, from 1998-1999, increased from 60% to 70%. In 2000, of the 15,517 murders, 65.6% were committed with firearms, and in 2001 69.5% of the 15,980 homicides committed in the United States were committed with a firearm. Th...
