President Bush's Speech to the Nation

The speech that I chose was the speech that President Bush delivered to the nation after the terrorists’ attacks on September 11, 2001. I think that reading a speech and hearing a speech are different because you don’t get to see the emotion that is involved in delivering a speech, especially one like this. This was a very emotional day for Americans and you don’t really get the full effect of it by just reading it. Maybe President Bush might have gotten choked up and started crying during the speech, or maybe he stood as strong as an ox, you can’t tell though by just reading it. You can’t see the facial expressions that were made during the speech. You also could not hear a tone of voice to maybe stress certain points about the speech. A speaker can really stress a point with the way something is said and you can’t get that aspect of a speech by just reading it. There also weren’t any interruptions during the speech.
