Precis-The Singing School

There are three main attitudes of the mind that might result from being stranded on an island. A state of consciousness that disconnects you from the remainder of the world, a “practical attitude”; developing manner of living and lastly an “imaginative attitude”; an image of the world as you see it or want it to be. There would also be a language for all three of the attitudes. The language of “ordinary conversation”, the language of “practical skills”, and the language of “literature”. But for now let’s leave the island and explore literature.
Literature, in all its forms, can be tracked down to very early in time. The desire someone has to write can merely come from things he has already ...
