Pragmatism

I believe I am a pragmatist. Especially since I am going to be an early childhood education teacher, I feel that learning core information is important for young children. At that age, children need to learn the basics; there isn’t much need for ‘extra’ electives. I believe in creating a learning environment where the child is interested in what he or she learns about and wants to get involved with the activities.
Early childhood education is most important in creating a backbone of social experiences. Children need to feel loved and accepted by their peers in order to feel comfortable in a school setting.
