Postman’s claim that our real problems today such as war, crime, starvation, and social decay is not the result of lack of information is completely correct. Computers cannot help us solve them because it will take action, and not useless research to stop these problems that we as a society face today. Although computers are helpful in other ways, spending millions and millions of dollars on information that will not help solve the problem is uncalled for.
Computers cannot solve these problems because they can only give us data that cannot be used in these situations. Data will not put food in a starving person’s mouth, and data cannot stop a war from taking place. P...
