Political Organization

In the video documentary “Political Organization”, I got to experience the

way that Papua New Guineans view politics, the closeness of the tribes, and their

economic structure. I got to compare their way of life to my perspective of Canada,

within the economy, private, and political sectors.

The economic and private sectors between Papua New Guinea and

Canada have a different set of ideologies. It is very common in Papua New Guinea for

men to marry 2 or 3 women. Our system of law is based on marrying one person. While

women in Papua New Guinea are gardeners and farmers predominately, the volume of

Canadian working women has risen within the last 30 years. Papua New Guineans

believe strongly in their traditional way of life, where in Canada, change in the political,

economic and private sectors are found more commonly.

In Papua New Guinea, the “Big Man” is the head political leader for all
