Plato's myth

Brief Analysis
Max Shulman’s 1951 short story “Love is a Fallacy” incorporates elements of Plato’s myth of the cave in it. Although both works tell a different story, they do share some similarities. Shulman’s story brings an uneducated girl into the world of potential affluence and educates her before she returns to her less promising roots, while Plato takes the uneducated and teaches them to be leaders before sending them back to their dark beginnings.
