Piercing after-care information

A few recommended practices common to external body piercings.
 Most importantly never touch the piecing with dirty hands
 After the piercing it is best left completely alone for the first 48-72 hours
 The aim is to prevent introduction of infection and help natural healing processes
 Turn gently only when bathing the site
 After showering do not dry the piercing with a towel- use cotton swabs or tissue
 Be conscious of your clothes they should be clean and not pulling or putting pressure on the piercing
 Do not remove scabs on the skin as this is sealing the wound protecting the piercing from infection - however ensure as best as possible that the jewellery itself is not encrusted
 Check the balls daily (on threaded jewellery) to ensure that they have not become loose do not over thread by forcing
