Interpretation of Dora Durian’s argument

P1: At the end of Canada’s war with Germany in 1939, a motion was passed declaring war on that nation.

P2: When at the end of that war came, the Canadian government signed a peace treaty with the German nation.

SC1: Generally, this is how a real war happens.

P3: Every literal war must be a war between two political entities, such as nations.

P4: In a so-called “war on terrorism”, the enemy is terrorism.

P5: They are not the sort of thing that can sign a treaty declaring an end to their side of the war.

SC2: Terrorism & terrorists are not a single political unit.
