Pesticides: Effects on the Environment and Healthy Alternatives

Pesticides have been used for a number of years and are continuing to be used despite the many problems these chemicals cause to the environment. In the 1930s pesticides were used to boost farm yields by killing the many breeds of mites and flies that tormented the crops. Farmers since have grown dependent on such methods and more powerful effective pesticides have been produced. Unfortunately farmers are not the only people using pesticides, Golf courses and ordinary families also use pesticides for home gardens or to keep their grass growing green without flaws.
