Perspectives on Justice

The justice perspective deals with the treatment of all people equally under the law. However, sometimes this perspective on justice becomes altered when unfairness dwells in the system. There is unfairness towards a certain party even though there may be two criminals that commit the same crime. For instance, categorizing of race may play a role in the system’s partiality. A white male criminal may receive favoritism over a black male criminal. Class can also play a part in the administration of the justice system. If an upper-class citizen and a lower-class citizen commit the same crime, the upper-class citizen may acquire a better deal. From time to time the functioning of the justice system can be biased or u can gain a lot by knowing people in “high places”.
