Persistence

This is a quote by which I have come to live my life: “Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; un-rewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is filled with educated derelicts. Persistence and dedication are omnipotent. The slogan ‘press on’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.” This quote, by President Calvin Coolidge encompasses everything that one could say about persistence.

President Coolidge points out that talent will not replace persistence. Indeed how often have you met people whom you know have talent. People whom, if only they persisted, would be hugely successful in their field....
