Perhaps at certain age A Good Man is Hard to Find, by Flannery O'Connor

The central character of this story reminds me my grandmother. Both of them are from another time where the customs were different from the ones in the present. They grew up giving attention, observance, and honor to their adults. Why this respect has faded away along the years? Why the elderly have to put up with this kind of behavior, sometimes from thir love ones?
Like the character's son, he has to put up with her, maybe because she is his mother. Mayb...
