Perfection Equals Death: The Birthmark
In Nathaniel Hawthorne’s “The Birthmark,” with perfections comes
death. Imperfection is always a downfall. Everyone tries to be perfect when, in reality, no one can be perfect. Everyone tries to be perfect and usually when we try to be perfect, we end up making things worse. It does not matter if we think we have something perfect it will not last for long because as humans we
are not perfect. As in the story Aylmer tries to make Georgiana perfect and once he has made her perfect, in his eyes’, she dies.
