Pattern of Development between “Saboteur” and “The Storm”

In this essay I will address some of the similarities and differences in the pattern of development between “Saboteur” and “The Storm.” First, I will start with character focusing most on the chosen character’s motivation. Second, I will contrast the setting of each story. Third, I will address the tone in which I think the story is written. Finally, I will compare the style of each story.
The character in “Saboteur” that I want to look at is Mr. Chiu. His motivation slowly builds throughout the story. Mr. Chiu’s character developed quickly into his role of being charged as a saboteur. It is clear that Mr. Chiu’s motivation was to seek revenge against the police department which in turn became revenge against the city, Muji. Mr. Chiu was disgruntled for being arrested and having to admit to a crime he feels he did not commit. His anger was not just toward the situation, but also toward his wife.
