Parasites

Parasites can be found in many places around the world. A parasite is an organism that grows, feeds, and is sheltered on or in a different organism while contributing nothing to the survival of its host. There are many types of parasites that live in various parts of the human or animal body.
Victims of parasites usually live in poor areas of the world. Parasites are complex organisms. They range from single cell organisms to worms. There are many types of parasites. There are viruses, bacteria, phytoparasites, zooparasites, ectoparasites, and endoparasites. Ectoparasites live on the outside of the body. They include lice and bugs. Endoparasites live on the inside of the body. They live in the blood vessels, intestines, tissues, and cells.
