Paper on Cancer

Cancer cells differ from normal cells because Cancer cells are more concerned with growth than function. Also they produce enzymes that digest protein barriers so they can cross into adjacent tissues. Cancer cells also produce substances that increase local circulation to feed the tumor.
There are many different factors that can cause cancer. Some may be exogenous, external factors such as lifestyle factors such as smoking, alcohol consumption, diet, and sun exposure. Also environmental and occupational exposures such as radiation, second-hand smoke, radon, asbestos, and pesticides can also cause cancer. Some infectious agents associated with the cause of cancer include viruses and bacteria. Endogenous (internal factors) of cancer include hereditary factors and hormonal influences.
The 3 standard treatments of cancer include surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Chemotherapy is the treatment of cancer with drugs that can destroy cancer cells.
