Paper Chrmotography using Candy Dyes of M&M's and Skittles
Intorduction
I can remember being a kid and loving M&M's and Skittles candy because of the different variety of colorful candies they had to offer. But, have you ever wondered what those colors were and how they relate to the world? Well the colers seen on the candies are called candy dyes and they relate to the world scientificully. These dues relate to science because they can be classified as compounds or mixtures; through an experiment called paper chromotography. We all know what paper is, but what is chromotography? Chromotography is the technique used in seperating dyes. The purpose of this experiment is to determine the effect of chromotography on candy dyes; leading me to believe that if I run candy dyes through a chromotograph, then the dyes will seperate.
