Othello

Throughout the story of Othello we are brought to realize the harshness of ones actions. These deceitful actions crumbled the main character, Othello. Who at one time was deeply in love with his wife Desdemona. Iago, who once was Othello’s most trusted friend, lies, corrupts, persuades, betrays and ruins Othello and Desdemona’s beautiful marriage in which the two once had. In my opinion the jealousy of Iago goes far beyond publicly acceptable.

The lies in which Iago entangles himself in were meant to bring Othello into his grasp. With these actions, Othello seemed as if he were Iago’s puppet, and could be controlled almost mischievously to Iago’s demands. When Iago intentionally misleads Othello into despising his wife, he knows full well what the result of his actions will be. Desdemona was blind to all Iago was doing, she could see Othello changing right in front of her, but could not understand why.
