Osmosis is the movement of a liquid from one solution to into another through a membrane that separates them. The process is needed for the survival of all the living things in the world. EG/ a plant absorbs most of its water by osmosis. In animals, osmosis helps to the flow of water between the body fluids and the cells. Osmosis also has other uses these are water purification and food preservation.
