Once More to the Lake

In the story Once More to the Lake the narrator recalls a tradition of his own that he would like to pass to his son. The father’s memories of the lake are as fresh and real as if the years never passed, however his son’s views of the lake are of a new generation. Memories of the lake to both will be forever etched in the thoughts of August past. Although, years have brought about changes to life on the lake, both father and son will have recollections that will forever form a constant bond between them. That bond will be the measure of the father’s accomplishment of keeping his tradition alive.
One day in the month of August the narrator was tired of the salt water and wanted to revisit old memories. He bought some bass hooks and a spinner to go fishing in the lake in Maine.
