On Concealed Weapons in the USA: Part 1

Over a month ago I bought my first guns. After looking at dealers (man they are expensive) and looking in pawn shops (how many people did this gun kill?) I visited one of the controversial Gun Shows at the state fair grounds and made two purchases. My decision to purchase at the gun show was motivated only by price and comparison shopping. No where else had as many options and available and knowledgeable sales reps. A pawn shop owner (usually) doesn't know much about hunting rifles but will know more about pistols, so this was a great opportunity to find out.

I purchased a nearly new .30-06 hunting rifle (Ruger M77 Mark II) and a nearly new .22 plinking pistol (Ruger 22 Mark II KMK512). Along with a few hundred rounds of cheap S. Korean reloads and an ammo can. Both guns are fantastic. The pistol cost more than the rifle, but given the complex mechanics I can understand why.
