Motivation is something that has long interested me. What makes one person motivated and another person 'unmotivated'? Can a person really control how motivated he or she is or are there too many external factors that stifle a person's motivation? Also, is motivation simply a matter of perception? Some would say that motivation is an incentive to help people to do better at an act or process.
I will admit that I do consider myself a motivated person. There have been many times in my nineteen years of living that school or work has become difficult, yet I 'hung in' and persevered.
In a Business Week Article out of 8,000 people polled 60% reported that management did not, or only "somewhat" did, take people into account when making decisions.1 A manager greatly influences the external environment that in turn enriches or stifles a persons motivation.
