Of Mice And Men- Section 7

The bunkhouse looked strangely foreboding in the evening sunlight.
It cast long shadows through the bunkhouse and lit up the dust giving the room an eerie feel.
The ranch was silent, the trees were stationary, the birds mute and the air still. It was as if everything was mourning Lennies’ death.
George and Slim stepped into the bunkhouse.
George was a deadly shade of white and his whole body looked as if it could collapse at any moment.
Slim had a grim expression on his face and gripped Georges’ shoulder.
Georges’ hand shook violently as it reached to switch on the lamp.
He flinched as light cascaded through the bunkhouse.
“Yew sid down and I’ll ged us a bottle a whisky.” said Slim.
George sat down on a wooden box and Slim joined him a moment later with a glass of whisky in each hand.
“Cum on George ya gotta stop killin yerself, if you hadn’t a killed Lennie, Curly wudda had him lynched, it was the righ’ thing to do.”
“Yea...
