Odysseus, the Ultimate Epic Hero
While experiencing The Odyssey, it becomes obvious that while Odysseus is on his great journey, he is the ultimate epic hero and the one who sets the standards for other heroes to come. Throughout The Odyssey, Homar reveals several traits and characteristics of Odysseus, the main character of The Odyssey, future epic heroes from even other cultures also possess. In life and in literature, all epic heroes seem to follow the same predictable pattern that Odysseus experienced. Through his circular journey, his behavior, and his physical characteristics, Odysseus reveals that he is the ultimate hero.
