Odysseus

Determination was one of Odysseus’ major traits. Throughout the Odyssey Homer described determination exclusively. Determination is a fixed intention or resolution, and this was portrayed in the epic throughout his journey home. Whether Odysseus was weeping in Calyspos’ Island, or on the ship directing his men, Odysseus and only one goal, and that was to get home to his beloved Penelope, and his long-forgotten son, Telemachus. Determination is a trait which is combined with many other traits such as courage, and intelligence. Even though Odysseus had a fixed mind on returning, he needed an immense amount of courage to conquer some of the obstacles he faced.
