Odysseus Deals with Calypso
Ten years have passed since the Trojan War and the Greek hero Odysseus has not returned to his kingdom in Ithaca. This story takes place in the Greek Epic The Odyssey written by Homer. Odysseus has not returned because he is trapped on the Island of Ogygia, where the beautiful goddess Calypso lives. Calypso does not want Odysseus to finish his quest back home, but would rather keep him on her island. This event takes place at the end of his Odyssey right before he returns back to Ithaca. While Odysseus is gone a large mob of suitors plague his palace and continue to court his wife Penelope.
