Obstacle

There have been many obstacles in my life, and I know that there will be many more in the future. The most difficult stumbling block that I have had to overcome in my life has been my fight with anorexia nervosa. Before I fell into this horrifying eating disorder, I was five foot two inches tall and one hundred and three pounds. I unconsciously began lessening my food consumption at meals after my mom was in a severe car accident. My family was concentrating so deeply on helping my mom recover that they did not even take notice of my problem. After my mom was able to take care of herself again, she began to notice that I was becoming sickly thin. She forced me to see our family doctor; it was at this time that I was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa.
Although I knew I had a problem, I did not want to fix it. I continued to decrease my food intake until I was only drinking four ounces of orange juice each day. My weight continued to fall. My mom made me return to my family doctor, and I ...
