OBITUARY
GEORGE HARRISON 1943-2001
George Harrison, lead guitarist for the band that changed the face of rock music forever, lost his battle with cancer, at the age of 58, on 29th November 2001 in Los Angeles. The Associate Press reported that Harrison passed away at 4:30pm at his friend’s home with his wife, Olivia Harrison, and 23-year-old son Dhani by his side.

Born in Liverpool in 1943, Harrison was the youngest of three sons and the only member of the Beatles to come from a large family. His father, Harold, was a bus driver and his mother, Louise, a housewife. The whole family was liked by everyone in their neighbourhood, which goes some way to explain why Harrison’s home life had been relatively uneventful.
