This is an amazing story. As we dug into it deeper, we found- from Le Grande and Peggy
A) The Japanese man later joined the church.
B) Was sealed to his wife and family in the Hawaiian temple.
C) He is now the mission Pres. In the North JaJoan Mission. (Not sure of the date)
(Peggy’s father was a mission Pres. In JoJoan- and verifies this story- which is condensed from the elder’s diary.)

Marshel young, who condensed the info and wrote it as we now have it was the vice Pres. Of student bodies. Her husband was Pres. In about 1946-’47.

Mr. A. O’Gawa told his story to the Pres of the Oakland temple when he and her family were attending a session there. Bert and Joyce Henderson were told by Nico Snell (all temple workers) that Mr. A. O’Gawa said, “My family and I were sealed in the very Temple I had tried to destroy.


On September 9, 1957, Elder Robert Thomas Stout recorded this experience in his Missionary Journal.
