Q: What are the steps taken in performing a scientific research?

A: To begin a research, a topic of interest must be selected first. Once a topic is chosen, we must then define and explain the problem that is occurring within the topic. The problem must be well focused and clear. We must explain what it is we are trying to learn from it. It is also necessary to review the literature already written on the topic. The already existing literature helps the researcher figure out how to make the problem more specific. One key point in doing research is the making of a hypothesis. What is expected from this research? Based on theories and assumptions, the hypothesis must be formed and evaluated.
