Night

Night by Elie Wiesel tells the story of a young Jewish boy named Eliezer and his struggles with the Nazis and their death camps. The story starts with a pauper named Moshe the Beadle returning from captivity and telling the people of Sighet a story about Jews being forced to dig massive graves for themselves and then the Gestapo killed them.
