Nietzsche

Friedrich Nietzsche was born in Prussia in 1844. Born into a family with a long line of clergymen, it was assumed that Nietzsche would become a minister. When he found philosophy during his years at preparatory school he lost his faith in traditional religion. He went on to further study philosophy and began to develop many of his own unique opinions of morality. Published in 1887, On the Genealogy of Morals is a collection of three of Nietzsche’s essays; “Good and Evil, Good and Bad,” “Guilt, Bad Conscience, and Related Matters,” and “What is the Meaning of Ascetic Ideals?”
