Niccolo Machiavelli
Niccolo Machiavelli was born on May 3, 1469 in Florence, Italy. Not much is known of his childhood, but he did receive a good amount of education and he enjoyed studying many great writers including Aristotle, Heroditus, and Virgil. In 1492, Savonarola came into power in Florence, and for a while Machiavelli was a hard-core follower and believer of Savonarola. Machiavelli, was cosidered a political genius by many people. Although, many people don't like him because they believe he supported running a corrupt government. The reason for this is a short book he wrote called The Prince. The genius political woks of Niccolo Machiavelli were overshadowed by the reputation that was given to him because of his views in The Prince. Machiavelli became interested in politics at a fairly young age. Machiavelli soon got a job with the government as a secretary, but worked his way up fast when they realized how smart he was.
