Nerf or Nothing-A medative essay

Memory is a very strange thing. How you can sometimes remember the smallest of details and yet be blind to something else major. We tend to attach certain emotions to certain memories. We attach a feeling of joy to a memory of a birthday, beauty to a memory of your last vacation to Yellowstone Park, or grief over the death of your first pet. This memory, like all great memories, is about a girl. A girl, who through her own misfortune, taught me a very important lesson in friendship and loyalty.
It all happened back in the year 1999. I remember it was a clear calm Friday afternoon in my small town of Smithfield, VA. There was a slight breeze blowing in the air. It was hardly noticeable with our jackets on. Which were mandatory for the cool November weather. My friends and I were massed on the front porch of our friend Brian.
