Nellie Bly

Nellie Bly by Brooke Kroeger
Nellie Bly, who was born on 1864, and died in 1922 was Americans best reporter. She wrote Arthur Brisbane in his column in the New York evening Journal on the occasion of her death. Brooke Kroeger, tells the reader why Bly deserved such an accolade in a biographical narrative that describes in detail the courageous life of this world famous reporter. One of her greatest accomplishments was that she herself opened the doors of journalism for all women. Giving them at least equality in this field of work during a time period where women had few rights and little opportunity to succeed in life. Although this book was not filled with excitement and adventure like many of the other books I have read, it completely opened my eyes to the feminist movement in America and helped me understand more about journalism and equality. This book was filled with specific court cases, memories, and historical events to complete the first fully documented biography on Bly....
