Was Napoleon Good or Bad for France?

Napoleon Bonaparte with all of his flaws, still he accomplished much for France.

Napoleon proved himself to be an able military leader. When Napoleon was just the young age of twenty six, he was given charge of the French armies that were in Italy. In a very short time he showed himself to be an effective leader, who was surprisingly admired by both his superiors and his soldiers. He helped defeat the British at Toulon and was then made Brigadier General. When he drove the Austrian's out of Italy and got them to sign the Treaty of Champo Formo, which gave French control of the Rhine area he became particularly popular with the French people. He then took an army into Egypt to try to capture it in order to cut off British shipping to India. However, that campaign did not go well.

Because of Napoleons military strength other European countries became concerned. Combined armies from Northern Italy, Holland, and Switzerland...
