Napoleon

In the early 1800’s France fought all the major European powers, including Britain, Russia, Austria and Prussia. Napoleon, a skilled military leader, moved his troops in unexpected ways. Napoleon was defeated by circumstances beyond his control such as the backfiring of the Continental System, the invasion of Russia and use of guerilla warfare.
One force beyond Napoleon’s control was the Continental System. In 1805 Napoleon and his troops invaded Britain and decided to blockade British ports and cut off its vital trade. Napoleon demanded that all European nations are to stop trade with Britain. Britain responded quickly and made any ship leaving for France to stop at the port ...
