Napoleon

Napoleon Bonaparte, also know as “little corporal” by his loyal soldiers and guards, was born August 15, 1769, on the Mediterranean island of Corsica. The Bonaparte family were lower class nobles and were not rich so it was a great opportunity for Napoleon when he was awarded a scholarship to the top military school in Paris. Following graduation from the military academy of Paris, he became an artillery officer in 1785.
In 1792 Napoleon became captain of artillery and in 1793 he was chosen to direct his men against the siege in Toulon. With the fall of Toulon, Napoleon was immediately selected to become the brigadier general. Being a passionate man, Napoleon followed his beliefs by rebelling against the king and supporting the French Revolution. He was made commander of the French army in Italy.
