Mythical Creation of Land and Man

The “creator” in this myth is a raven (bird) whose characteristics resemble that of which we think of in modern day as a “god”. Raven is able to not only possess the means to create life for man but also to see his needs as well.
The relationship between humans and the other creatures that inhabit the earth are more or less that each has a function, a need and purpose, but also to be complimentary to each other. Raven recognizes the purpose that creatures will serve for man and also the inevitable demise of them at the hand of man. For example in regards to sheep he says, “it will be better for them to have their home among the high cliffs, so that every one can not kill them, and there only shall they be found”.
