Myth-Why is it dark at night?

Many years ago, before there were scientists, or science at all; daylight was everlasting, and people did not need sleep. It was never dark and people could stay awake and busy all the time. The world was controlled by a group of people known as the Umpa-Lumpas. The Umpa-Lumpas were a political party that gained control of the world through manipulation; they tricked god into going to another world for a vacation and then took over while he was gone. The Umpa-Lumpas wanted to maintain control of the world, and they knew that the only way to do this was to allow people to make suggestion to them on how to make the world a better place, and then put those suggestions into action. The Umpa-Lumpas worked very hard at this, and became very successful rulers.
