Myriam Bedard

Myriam Bedard was born in 1969, in Ancienne-Lorette, Quebec. She was a figure skater until she was twelve, then at fourteen she joined the army cadets. Where she over the years won many awards. The biggest being Army Cadet League of Canada’s Centennial Award as Top Female Cadet. She first started biathlon at fifteen, when she was asked to be part of the relay biathlon team for a local meet. Even though she never participated in any part of the sport before, she borrowed some skis and by the end of the race had discovered her passion for biathlon. She then throughout her cadet career trained and competed in many biathlon events.
