Mychal Judge

Mychal Judge was born Emmet Judge on May 11, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York. His parents were of Irish descent and came to the United States from County Leitrim. At the early age of six, Mychal watched his father die of a long illness. Although this was a terribly difficult time for him, Mychal moved on with his life with the help of his deep spirituality. According to Dympna, Mychal’s twin sister, Mychal always wanted to become a priest and his determination was proven by the many years that he served as an altar boy. He was officially ordained in 1961, six years after taking his vows.
